Publication Ethics

JCFT follows the Core Practices and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the recommendations of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). Authors, reviewers and editors are expected to adhere to these standards.

Authors

Submitted work must be original, not previously published and not under consideration elsewhere. Authorship must reflect a substantial contribution according to the ICMJE criteria, and individual contributions are declared using the CRediT taxonomy. Research involving human participants, human material or cadavers must have been approved by the competent ethics committee and conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki; informed consent must be obtained where applicable, and identifying images must be anonymised or published only with written consent. Funding sources and competing interests must be declared.

Plagiarism and research misconduct

Submitted manuscripts are checked for text overlap. Plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication or falsification, image manipulation and citation manipulation lead to rejection or, after publication, to correction or retraction. Suspected misconduct is handled according to the COPE flowcharts.

Use of generative artificial intelligence

AI tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors must disclose any use of generative AI in the preparation of the manuscript and remain fully responsible for its content. Reviewers and editors must not upload manuscripts under review to generative AI tools.

Reviewers and editors

Reviewers and editors treat manuscripts as confidential, declare any conflict of interest and decline assignments where such conflicts exist. Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit and relevance to the journal scope.

Corrections, retractions and complaints

Errors identified after publication are addressed through corrections; serious flaws or misconduct lead to retraction, with a notice linked to the original article, which remains accessible. Complaints about the journal's procedures can be sent to editor@jcftjournal.com and are handled by an editor not involved in the case.
